Thienpont Wine, a family-run business with a great legacy in fine wines, approached us with the request of revamping its online presence.
As a Belgian royal warrant holder, their goal was to extend their wine collection to the bigger public – wine novices/enthusiasts, and experts alike. Adding value through initiatives like a wine club and special events and tastings, they needed a performant platform to balance ecommerce and information to guide the customer to the right wines.
Together with expert partners Yves Demets, Amista and ITM, we created an ecosystem between ERP and Magento, aiming for seamless integration and a maximum level of autonomy for the end user.

The design is built on the lightweight Hyvä theme. It provides a modern interface that aligns perfectly with Thienpont’s brand identity. It’s simple, elegant and ensures a premium look & feel.
Enhanced filtering and search capabilities
Extensive filtering options enable users to sort wines by type, region, grape variety, producer, vintage, and even food pairing, making it easy for both casual shoppers and connoisseurs to navigate Thienpont’s vast selection. The platform also offers two distinct viewing modes: list view and gallery view.
- Gallery view: ideal for casual users who want a visually engaging experience, displaying wines with large images and concise details.

- List view: especially tailored for professional customers, this view provides a detailed, data-rich table format. Users can sort and organize wines based on any field – such as price, vintage, or stock availability – offering an efficient way to compare and analyze products.

Additionally, the advanced search functionality, featuring autocomplete and predictive search, ensures customers can quickly find exactly what they’re looking for, therefore enhancing the user journey. This dual-view and advanced sorting capability cater to both individual wine enthusiasts and professionals looking for specific criteria.

Rich product content with minimal merchant interference
Each wine is presented with detailed descriptions, including tasting notes, grape compositions, and insights into its region of origin.Producer profiles and regional overviews provide customers with a deeper understanding of the products, enriching their shopping experience. Most data is clickable for maximum frictionless browsing.

Additionally, category pages, such as a specific producer product list, are enriched with relevant data, such as specific information on that producer. This content is centrally managed and populated across the website through automatic processes, therefore minimizing the merchant’s content efforts, and maximizing (relevant) information for the end user.

Wine club & events
We custom made a wine club solution, opening up premium content for those who join the Thienpont Wine club and integrated an event module (Staylime) that allows fully automatic registration, cancellation, wait listing flows. For both customers and the merchant this allows easy management of events – including automated emails, making the experience better and allowing for more efficiency.
Integration with SAP Business One
Using ITM’s synchronization module, the platform integrates with SAP Business One, which automates the flow of data such as product information, inventory, and order details. This was further supported by Amista, who ensured that the SAP-related processes were optimized and aligned with Thienpont’s operational needs.
Performance optimization
The site was engineered for speed and efficiency, achieving high scores on Google PageSpeed Insights. This ensures quick load times and smooth navigation, regardless of device, enhancing both user satisfaction and SEO performance.
