Sophistic got its first Magento 2 webshop! The company has a passion for interior objects. You can shop for antiques, vintage, design, curios, art and so much more. The carefully selected products are of excellent quality and cherished by previous owners. Until a few months ago, the collection could only be admired by appointment in a historic setting in the heart of Ghent. After finding this beautiful storehouse, there was a need for a platform to sell the interior objects online as well. A Magento 2 webshop was the ideal solution to their problem. With creative and technical know-how, us Baldwinners enthusiastically started this project.

Structured webshop design
Designing the webshop, in consultation with the customer, was the first step in this project. Our designers supported Sophistic in the implementation from idea to full concept and later webshop. The structure of the website is organized in an orderly way with a subdivision per category and subcategory. This to optimize the user experience and findability of the products for the online visitors.
The design focuses on the most important aspects of e-commerce: the products, product photos, clear descriptions and specifications that provide sufficient information. In general, the layout of the webshop reflects simplicity and class.
Personalized module
Unique to the Sophistic design is a personalized way of shipping. Large products such as fragile paintings are not ideal to send by mail. For this, we introduced a custom option. This way it is possible to pick up the furniture at the store or to discuss an alternative shipping method.
Tracking & Configurations
The marketing team implemented and configured some tools on the Sophistic webshop to accurately track data. For instance, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console correctly follow up events as newsletter subscribe, an order placed, add to cart, etc. Our own SEO module also provides Sophistic with handy functionalities. This contributes positively to a higher organic ranking in search engine results.
In addition, Baldwin explained to the client how to take correct product photos for the webshop and Instagram page. We also implemented the Instagram account and other social media on the webshop as a plug-in.
The outcome of the project was a beautiful webshop, matching the quality and sophisticated interior objects of Sophistic, success guaranteed.
