Big names like Google, Apple, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube and WhatsApp offer users the ability to easily shift to dark backgrounds.
The advantages of dark mode are well known by now. It has an impact on users’ eyes, reduces battery consumption and makes it easier to stay focused on your work. In addition, dark mode stops the inconvenient feeling of bright light. No more headaches that feel like staring in the sun all day. We believe that dark mode will gain even more popularity in 2021!
Minimalism
We have mentioned this before, and will likely continue to do so. Minimalism carries on to be a trend in web design. In the covid-19 times we all struggle with the chaos, changing rules and regulations. Therefore, people are longing for minimalism in 2021. The usability and simplicity of minimalistic designs is relaxing for users. This trend helps to stay focused. No chaos and distraction from the products thanks to soothing colours.
For one of our clients, Lotana, we went for a simple and clear web design. The project itself was challenging, consisting of no less than five sub-websites. However, its design is minimalistic. It’s all about user friendliness, putting the products in the spotlight.
Cartoon Illustrations
Stock photos are no longer doing the trick. The boring times where websites only consisted of texts and images are over. Web designers experiment with the human-centred approach. This trend is all about showing emotions and humanity to users. Personalisation is hot, so why not add a personal touch to your website as well? Furthermore, inclusive cartoon illustrations will gain popularity in 2021. Seems like we have some creativity to look forward to in 2021!
